Chukwuemeka Ihemelandu, GHUCCTS KL2 scholar and Assistant Professor of Surgical Oncology at Georgetown University Medical Center, is the recipient of the 2021-2023 Clinical Investigator Award for Under-Represented Black, Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) Surgeons from the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO).
Dr. Ihemelandu's project, "Peptide-Based Imaging for Intraoperative Fluorescence-Guided Colorectal Cancer Surgery", will be funded for two years at $100,000. Click here for a list of previous awardees.
